Hey,
I just know that the 34-year-old original Nintendo game Tetris, for the first time in its history, is beaten by a human being.
On 21st December, Blue Scuti, a 13-year-old Tetris player, caused the game to be frozen when reaching the level 157. By this level, the game cannot function properly any more because of the limitation in its coding. In other words, the programme doesn't have enough memory any more, and when it reaches its final straw, it crashes, causing the game to be frozen, a.k.a. 'Killscreen'.
Blue Scuti is the first one to be able to do it, a feat that was ever achieved only by AI.

Is Tetris that hard? How is it possible that no one can beat the game until now.

I also asked this question when I read the news, like… How? So I got on Reddit, read some responses, watched a YouTube video which covers pretty much the history of beating Tetris and this achievement.
It was believed that the game stopped at 29, because at level 29, the falling speed of the block becomes too fast that it was technically impossible to move the block to the rear. Which means, players couldn't complete the lines, which led to them losing the game.
It was until 2011, when Thor Aackerlund reaches level 30 using hypertapping (vibrating the fingers rather than pressing to slide the block). Since then, breaking world record became a Marathon.
However, hypertapping is not a stable technique, as it will wear your muscles out, and it can only barely help you survive through level 29 with luck and perfect precision. Beyond that, well, it's hard to tell.
It was until Cheez, a Tetris player, discovered a technique, marking a new milestone for Tetris history.
You can watch the video explaining here. In only 10 days, it has been viewed by nearly 9 millions people.

Upon reaching the far-beyond territories of Tetris, players keep discovering new things, like changing of colour palette, incuding two noticeable levels called Dust and Charcoal, due to its hard visibility.
And the newest milestone, is Blue Scuti beating the game.
Technically, the game is unbeatable, because it will run forever, with the requirement that the memory of the machine is big enough to store the data.
However, it's not the case. At around level 150, with a specific way of clearing the lines, players can trigger a 'killscreen' – The game freezes. In other games, you may scream 'Damn I haven't saved the game yet', 'This computer is garbage'. Here in Tetris, achieving the killscreen is the final achievement. And by doing so he becomes the first ever human being that has ever beaten the game (This feat was only reached by AI). He is Blue Scuti.

I really recommend you to watch the video above, as it dives into the history of Tetris' broken records, and the amazing, uncanny glitches of the game as you advance.
Damn, it's really fascinating to know that a classic game like Tetris, and with unintentional Easter eggs throughout the games can make me hook into it like this!
